BARNABY'S TO REOPEN AT TREVIBBAN MILL VINEYARD IN PADSTOW

16/12/2022

The award-winning team behind Prawn on the Lawn have announced the brand new location for their second Padstow restaurant, Barnaby’s for Summer 2023. The focus is still firmly on fish but with the addition of locally sourced meat and veg dishes which are heavily influenced by Mediterranean and middle eastern flavours. The 45-cover restaurant will pop up this coming May to September at Trevibban Mill Vineyard and Orchard with both indoor and al fresco seating options and sweeping views of wildflower fields and vineyards.

POTL Padstow’s current Head Chef Eddie Thompson will head up the kitchen working closely with executive chef/owner Rick Toogood. Prawn on the Farm takes a much-needed “fallow year” following its runaway success at Trerethern Farm since 2020 but Prawn on the Lawn in Padstow will remain open all summer long with current Sous Chef, James Lean, who joins with experience cooking under Nathan Outlaw taking over the reins.

Husband and wife team Katie and Rick Toogood brought their ethos of honest, seasonal and locally-sourced produce to Barnaby’s on Duke Street in Padstow Town in 2018. The new site, overlooking the vineyard that supplies them wines and cider, will also provide the herbs and wildflowers used throughout their dishes in true, traceable, field-to-fork style that Barnaby’s has become known for. Dishes will include local coppa, homemade by chefs Rick Toogood and Eddie Thompson from Trerethern Farm’s pedigree Cornish black pigs, Phillip Warren’s rib eye steaks and local Cornish lamb shoulder, alongside Day-boat fish and seafood from the Cornish coast making up a menu of sharing plates, cocktails and great wines.
