BREAD AHEAD LAUNCH A "SUMMER OF SOURDOUGH"

Bread Ahead Bakery & School are launching their “Summer of Sourdough” on Thursday 6th July until Thursday 17th August 2017.

The Summer of Sourdough will offer people the chance to take part in free 20-minute sourdough starter classes to make the perfect sourdough starter based on the bakery's signature "Mother" dough, which they can bring alongisde the recipe to bake unlimited loaves of thier very own bread.

Running every Tuesday and Thursday lunchtime at the Borough Market bakery and every Thursday at Pavilion Road at 12pm, 12.30pm and 1pm, the classes will take place each week on a first come, first served basis. Whether on a lunchbreak, holiday, or simply looking to learn something new, Bread Ahead is excited to get more people baking fresh bread and meet as many keen bakers as possible this summer.

The Summer of Sourdough will culminate in Bread Ahead’s Birthday Party on Saturday 19th August at Borough Market, where competitors are invited to bring their sourdough loaves, baked using their Mother dough from the class, to be judged by Bread Ahead’s founder Matthew Jones and co-founder and baker Justin Gellatly. The winner will receive two places on Bread Ahead’s three-day sourdough course and several runner up prizes are also available.
