CELEBRATE CHRISTMAS OUTSIDE LONDON

03/11/2022

At Hampton Manor festivities begin on the edge of the walled garden at Masterchef: The Professionals winner, Stuart Deely’s, Smoke. Stu is hosting a four-course Christmas Eve lunch beneath the vines, with his popular Beef wellington, madeira jus, and legendary boulangère potatoes on the menu. This will also be available on Boxing Day, for those wishing to delay the inevitable turkey sandwiches.

Christmas Eve dinner will be held at Michelin-starred, Peel’s, where guests are invited to indulge in a four-course soiree of; Langoustines, butternut and ginger, Longhorn beef, celeriac and black garlic, followed by Chocolate and coffee.

On the big day itself, Peel’s will be going all out - guests are invited to drinks and canapés reception, with circulating Confit goose leg croquettes with cranberry gel and Salmon roulade, caviar and dill on a sesame seed cracker. Head Chef Monty Stonehewer, will then serve a spectacular six-course lunch, fusing Christmas classics with his notable playful touch. Think Lobster with XO sauce, sea vegetables and grapefruit to start followed by traditional Turkey roulade with all the trimmings for main. Finish the feast with Christmas pudding and brandy sauce, a Selection of British cheeses and Mini mince pies. Flavour twists are to be expected.

At Fort Road Hotel, sea views are paired with a traditional Smoked salmon, scrambled eggs, Panettone and Champagne for their Christmas Day breakfast. For lunch, a four-course spread, starting with Oysters mignonette, Duck liver parfait, brioche, crab apple jelly and Chestnut & shallot tartlet with Madeira sauce. For mains, family-style sharing is encouraged with a whole Longlang goose surrounded with lashings of traditional trimmings that will make Fort Road feel like the perfect home-from-home. End with Date and ginger sticky toffee pudding, brandy cream or opt for a lighter Clementine sorbet to round off your meal.

A dip in the sea, or stroll on the beach is the best way to shake off the previous night’s indulgences. From 11:30am until 5pm, Fort Road will welcome all those that need heating up by the fire or a glass of bubbles. Goose, stuffing & cranberry baps, Boxing day soup and Quince pie tart will also be on offer, alongside festive cocktails of Mulled cider with ginger and cranberry and Amaretto negronis or a Pumpkin pie martini.
