#COOKFORSYRIA 2017

26/10/2017

Award-winning #CookForSyria launches its 2017 campaign this November with a special Syrian feast, second #BakeForSyria, supperclubs and restaurant partnerships.

#CookForSyria, now in its second year, is an international fundraising initiative curated by award winning influencer Clerkenwell Boy, SUITCASE Magazine CEO and Founder Serena Guen, and Gemma Bell, founder of one of London’s leading restaurant PR agencies, with an aim to preserve and celebrate Syrian culture amid one of the largest humanitarian crises of our time and raise money to help Unicef protect Syrian children.

Winner of the prominent Observer Food Monthly Awards “Best Ethical Food Project” last month, the #CookforSyria campaign officially launched in London on 31st October 2016 and has since been followed by volunteer-led charity supper clubs around the world including Amsterdam, Barcelona, Berlin, Dubai, Edinburgh, Hong Kong, London, Melbourne, Paris, San Francisco, Sydney and more, making it a true global effort. The initiative hopes to encourage everyone, from the UK’s top chefs to aspiring home cooks, to raise money for Unicef’s appeal for the children of Syria.

#CookForSyria 2017 will continue throughout November with chefs, bakers, and café owners from around the UK putting a ‘Syrian inspired twist’ on one of their favourite signature dishes (or by creating a new dish) and donating £2 from each sale of that dish to #CookForSyria.
