"EAT LOCAL, GLOBALLY": CULTISAN HAS LAUNCHED

Today sees the launch of a brand-new sustainable food retail and travel brand, CULTISAN. The start-up aims to give the consumer a new marketplace of the best people and the best produce whilst putting money into the pockets of the independent businesses we want to support more.

Cultisan is on a mission to connect consumers directly with producers, and therefore allow us all to be able to discover the best local producers around us wherever we are, whilst supporting the local economy. At launch it will have 23 makers from 3 countries and 110 products but this is a start-up and this is just the beginning with new regions across Europe coming on a monthly basis.

The brains behind Cultisan is British chef, restaurateur and food campaigner Jason Hartley, now based in Slovenia, who aims to give a voice to the hundreds of farmers, growers and producers he has met throughout his career. Cultisan was inspired by his deep belief that ethical farming which is kind to the land and animals is the only sustainable way to produce delicious food, and the realisation that there are so many small scale and family-run farms in the world that still feed 70% of the planet on a daily basis.
