THE CURTAIN’S NEW COCKTAIL BAR TO OPEN 24TH MAY

13/04/2018

The Curtain hotel and members club in the heart of Shoreditch is set to celebrate its first birthday with the launch of a new world class cocktail bar, Green Room, which will be fully open to the public, on 24th May.

Heading up Green Room will be The Curtain’s Director of Beverage, Jenny Willing. Based in East London herself, the cocktail menu will reflect Jenny’s experiences of the area, using local products as ingredients and with drinks inspired by her favourite places in the area. Namely the delicate and floral MaBelle, inspired by a walled rose garden in Victoria Park and Rough Trade, a vibrant tiki-style drink with a Bangladeshi twist inspired by Brick Lane.

A small menu of seasonal bar snacks will be available, designed to work as the perfect drinking food alongside the cocktails.

Green Room’s interior, created by designer Ellie Horwell, will feature jewel-toned tiles representing East London’s local pubs, juxtaposed against concrete surfaces and statement lighting as a nod to the hotel’s industrial surroundings. The space will be outlined with lavish velvet banquettes and curtains, in peacock tones. Whilst the walls will be adorned by striking locally-made artworks and a custom-made neon centrepiece will hang above the bar.

Green Room will be taking over the space occupied by The Curtain’s taqueria, Tienda Roosteria, with its signature tacos and frozen tequila cocktails moving into Red Rooster and its new courtyard hatch bar.
