DISHPATCH X MICHEL ROUX JR: WINTER MENU

23/12/2021

One of the UK’s most lauded chef, Michel Roux Jr, is partnering with Dishpatch to deliver a menu of his favourite French classics to the nation, in what will be Michel’s very first foray into meal kit delivery.

At the forefront of the British food scene since the mid-1980s, Michel has long held superstar chef status. Heading up two-Michelin starred Le Gavroche, and a staple on our TV screens and bookshelves, the name Roux is synonymous with culinary excellence. Helping to bring his iconic cooking to homes nationwide for the first time, original finish-at-home meal kit specialists, Dishpatch will launch both Michel’s ‘Classique’ and ‘Gourmand’ menus on the 2nd January.

Michel’s menu is the antithesis of the usual January eating; rich, comforting food to feed the soul – perfect to perk up the most miserable month of the year. The choice of two menus each feature a selection of Michel’s signature dishes so diners across the country can enjoy his iconic food at home.

The not-so standard ‘Classique’ menu (£70) begins with sourdough bread & Isigny butter, before moving on to a starter of French onion soup with comté and cheddar croutons. The piece de resistance? Bouef bourguignon & pommes Anna, made with slow-braised beef cheeks cooked until meltingly tender in a rich sauce. To round off the meal, if you still have room – Rum baba, Chantilly & caramelised oranges.

With the option to upgrade to the ‘Gourmand’ menu (£100 – think extra special date nights, birthdays, and anniversaries), or add on truffle camembert with fig honey & hazelnut bread, each of Michel’s dishes is inspired by his career spanning over 45 years, and upbringing within one of the most foodie families in the world.

“I’m extremely pleased to be partnering with Dishpatch to bring a taste of my cooking and heritage to the nation. This is the kind of food I cook and eat at home. French country cooking is comfort food, par excellence. Especially the beef bourguignon – it's succulent, it's filling, it's just wonderful with a nice glass of red. It fills your senses and tummy with joy.” says the man himself.

Michel Roux Jr’s menu will be available to order from Sunday 2nd January for delivery every Friday starting 14th January.
