GREAT SCOTLAND YARD HOTEL WILL OPEN ON 9TH DECEMBER

Great Scotland Yard has confirmed it will be opening to the public for the first time in nearly two hundred years on Monday 9th December. Once the historical home of law and order in London’s City of Westminster, Great Scotland Yard will be a new hotel, restaurant, tearoom, bar, drinking club and social events space.

  

Part of The Unbound Collection by Hyatt, the hotel will be led by General Manager Sholto Smith, with The Yard – the hotel’s flagship restaurant – and all other drinking and dining destinations overseen by critically-acclaimed chef, Robin Gill (Darby’s, Sorella, The Dairy). 

 

The Yard (63 covers) will celebrate the best ingredients in Britain, old school culinary craftsmanship and theatrical touches. The Parlour (28 covers) will update the traditional notion of afternoon tea with spices and aromas that are reflective of the quirkier side of the establishment

 

The ground floor of Great Scotland Yard Hotel will provide an array of drinking options, each with their own strong sense of identity, and all overseen by Bar Manager Michal Maziarz (formerly Head Bartender of Four Seasons at Ten Trinity Square). The 40 Elephants (24 covers) is inspired by a notorious all-female gang of thieves, who were active throughout the nineteenth and twentieth centuries; whilst Sibín (40 covers) will be an intimate drinking den, with a strong emphasis on whiskey. 

 

There are 152 bedrooms with five-star amenities, individual artwork and fun historical touches. There will also be a stand-alone Georgian-fronted townhouse which guests can book exclusively, called No. 1 The Townhouse.
