MICHELIN-STARRED MAYFAIR RESTAURANT MURANO ANNOUNCES NEW HEAD CHEF

13/07/2017

Angela Hartnett opened Murano restaurant in the heart of Mayfair in 2008 and was awarded its Michelin Star that same year and 4 AA Rosettes in 2013. Now, nearly 10 years on and the restaurant still holds these awards and goes from strength to strength.

Murano’s head chef Pip Lacey will be leaving the Michelin-starred restaurant this summer, after working with Angela for seven years first at York & Albany and then Murano. Pip began at Murano as sous chef before becoming head chef under Angela Hartnett’s direction. Pip will be going part time for the group while she develops her own restaurant.

Taking over from Pip is a chef who was part of the Murano kitchen brigade 4 years ago. Oscar Holgado began working at Murano in 2010 as a demi chef de partie before moving up the ranks to sous chef. More recently, in 2016, Oscar was head chef at Pitt Cue in the City, after leaving Fera at Claridges, where he was part of the opening team.

Angela said: "I am sad to see Pip leave but I know she will be brilliant in what ever she does next. We all wish her the best of luck. I’m also super excited to have Oscar back with us, and am very much looking forward to working with him again."
