OTTOLENGHI WINES

09/05/2023

Welcoming the warmer months in style, Ottolenghi are delighted to introduce their new products for summer and beyond. From the returning NOPI Negronis built for sunny evenings, to the long-awaited Ottolenghi Wines in a pale red and white, the summer roster will launch on 12th May across all Ottolenghi locations and online.

In collaboration with Czech winery Krásná Hora, the first ever Ottolenghi Wines are born from a two-year process between Yotam and Head Winemaker Ondřej Dubas, to create wines that would perfectly pair with spice, flavour and fire. The Ottolenghi White (£25) is made from a carefully chosen and adapted blend of Pinot Blanc, Riesling, Sauvignon Blanc, and Gewürztraminer, the latter of which spends three weeks on skin giving the wine a slightly orange tint, with a good body and fresh finish. Meanwhile, the Ottolenghi Red (£25) is a juicy, fresh blend of Zweigelt, Pinot Noir and Dornfelder, making way for cherry and forest fruit tasting notes following fermentation in both used oak barrels and stainless steel tanks.

Krásná Hora and Ottolenghi have long enjoyed a fruitful working relationship, with Ottolenghi supplying their wines sitewide for foun-and-a-half years. Growing grapes suited to cool, continental climates and on the same latitude as Burgundy, Alsace and Champagne, Krasna Hora was a natural fit for Ottolenghi’s first ever foray into winemaking, having championed natural and biodynamic wines in their restaurants and delis for almost 20 years. The wines will also be available in a set complete with complimenting snacks (£48).

The NOPI Negroni set (£55) will make a welcome return to the online store this May, complete with bar snacks to enjoy alongside. The pre-mixed cocktail, a best seller at Yotam’s first ‘grown up’ restaurant NOPI, is made from a house recipe of spiced and infused spirits. Vanilla, mint and lemon zest is steeped in gin, thyme and blood orange added to the Campari, and Maraschino cherries infuse the amaro. The negroni will come in a neatly packaged gift box alongside Ottolenghi Lavosh, Grissini, Spiced Rosemary Nuts and Preserved lemon and chilli olives for the perfect salty accompaniment.

Also joining the summer line-up will be a range of all-new Ottolenghi hampers. The Ottolenghi Pantry brings together some of the staple ingredients needed for any favourite Ottolenghi recipe. The Flavour Bomb Set (£55) will join an extra-special Ottolenghi Champagne Bundle (£65), fit for any special occasion or celebration, will showcase a bottle of Ottolenghi’s favourite fizz, alongside bar snacks and sweet treats.

The full range of new products will be available to purchase via the Ottolenghi website, and across every Ottolenghi location from Friday 12th May.
