After opening their pioneering pasta bar in London’s Borough Market in 2016, Tim Siadatan and Jordan Frieda will open a second Padella on Phipp Street in Shoreditch on 13th February.
The new 65-cover restaurant will feature an open kitchen with a separate spacious bar area, overlooked by counter seating. The restaurant will continue to operate a no reservations policy and use the Walk In app to manage the queue online.
The menu will be a short selection of simple, high quality antipasti with the addition of fritti which will change regularly throughout the year, followed by the pasta dishes and a choice of three classic puddings. Lengthy sheets of pasta will be hand rolled, stuffed and twisted each morning ready to be turned into much loved Padella classics, including:
Pici cacio e pepe
Pappardelle with 8 hours Dexter beef shin ragu
Fettuccine with Cobble Lane Cured nduja, mascarpone & lemon
The bar will continue to serve its classic Italian aperitivi, created in collaboration with Mr Lyan. Two draft lagers come from the outstanding Braybrooke Brewery in Leicestershire and a small selection of low intervention wines from artisan producers will be served on tap.
Padella’s existing bakery, currently located in Borough Market, will move to the new space in Shoreditch, continuing to make their staple sourdough bread alongside some new breakfast pastries coming soon.
