POMPETTE, A NEW RESTAURANT AND WINE BAR, COMES TO OXFORD THIS NOVEMBER

23/10/2018

POMPETTE – the charming French word for tipsy – is a new stylish charcuterie and dining room from husband and wife duo Pascal and Laura Wiedemann, and will open this November in Oxford’s pretty suburb of Summertown.

In the charcuterie wine bar guests will be able to enjoy plates of cured meats and cheeses (think Finocchiona, a fennel flavoured salami, Proscuitto di Parma and 24-month Comte, Morbier and Gorgonzola Dolce) as well as a few homemade bar snacks. The mainly European wine list will be concise yet varied, with nods to natural and biodynamic wines, as well as classic varieties. There will also be three lines of craft beer and a selection of local beers.

The dining room sits adjacent to the bar and the menu will change daily. Pascal’s ethos of using quality produce to its full extent, maximising flavour and minimising waste, resonates across the menu. Sample dishes will include, Hake with paprika braised chickpeas, spinach and aioli and Braised ox cheek with soft polenta, parmesan and gremolata.

The charcuterie wine bar and the dining room will be open six days a week from midday.
