SOM SAA TO HOST ANDY RICKER FOR AN EXCLUSIVE THAI TASTING MENU
Spitalfields Thai restaurant som saa will play host to the Portland regional Thai restaurant Pok Pok, to offer an eccentric tasting menu created in partnership with founder and James Beard award-winning chef, Andy Ricker. The dinner on Sunday 4th August, will feature sharing dishes with a focus on noodles, a special cocktail, snacks and desserts.
The dinner will start with a platter of appetizers for the table to share, including tomato and chilli naam phrik with “hom choo” and peanuts (Naam Phrik Akha), before moving onto noodle sharing dishes, featuring some of the recipes from Andy’s new book, POK POK Noodles: Recipes from Thailand and Beyond, such as five spiced stewed rabbit hindquarter with wide rice noodles (Kratai Pha Lo).
Andy and the som saa founders believe that bold and complex flavours should be experienced through both food and drink. The welcome cocktail will be a Som Pineapple Szechuan Pepper Margarita - made with Andy's Pok Pok Som drinking vinegar - and Phil Bracey of P. Franco, Bright and Peg will be pouring low intervention wines on the night.
The event will be held on Sunday 4 August, with bookings taken from 4 – 9pm. Bookings can now be made at www.somsaa.com
