ST. JOHN EXPANDS OWN-LABEL WINE PORTFOLIO

St. JOHN has expanded their cult own-label wine portfolio with the addition of glorious, towering Crémant de Limoux Magnums and the brand-new St. JOHN Déclassifié Pauillac 2018, available to trade, online sales, and in their own St. JOHN shops and restaurants. 
 
St. JOHN’s most beloved sparkling wine has been up-scaled, to match the ardour of its many fans. Generous, fresh and easy to drink, the St. JOHN Crèmant de Limoux is replete with green apple freshness and, like Champagne, is aged on lees before bottling, creating a beautiful balanced depth which exceeds expectations for the price. Created by longtime friend and winemaker Françoise Antech, matriarch of the Limoux sparkling wine specialist Antech family, the wine features 10% native Mauzac grape which they are increasingly using to embrace biodiversity. These large format bottles are ideal for celebrations or dinners, for Summer gatherings right through to Christmas festivities. Retailing at £44. 
 
The brand new St. JOHN Déclassifié Pauillac 2018 adds a fine wine element to the St. JOHN own-label list. Available in a limited supply of 2,400 bottles, the Déclassifié is an ode to the bounties of overproduction, a chance opportunity to sample one of France’s greatest wines from the Pauillac region at a fair price. Expect dark, elegant black fruits on the nose, with a balanced acidity and a deep, stylish tannin. Delicious, luxurious and extremely drinkable, this is a wine that gets better with age, and is sure to sell out quickly. Retailing at £42.
 
For years St. JOHN has worked to remove the stigma around own-label wines, which can be perceived as a lesser ‘value range’. St. JOHN’s wines carry their logo as their stamp of approval; they are the wines which they blend or source themselves to most perfectly represent a region, a style or an appellation. They are the wines which Trevor and Fergus most want to drink.
 
The exciting additions to the St. JOHN range will be made available in the upcoming weeks, for purchase from the St. JOHN online shop, or from one of St. JOHN’s bakeries and restaurants.
