ZAHTER OPENS 30TH NOVEMBER

We’re very pleased to announce the launch of Istanbul chef Esra Muslu’s debut restaurant in Soho - Zahter on 30th November.

Esra has opened four successful sites in Istanbul; Nu Pera, Moreish, Backyard, Auf, Kauf & Unter. She's worked with Soho House's Nick Jones and Yotam Ottolenghi and is now getting ready to open her first solo London venture. The restaurant will be set across 3 floors on Fourbert’s Place, Carnaby and is set to serve up home-style Turkish cuisine.

Reminiscent of Turkish taverns and mezze houses, Zahter’s open kitchen will comprise of a central wood and charcoal oven. Alongside well-known Turkish stalwarts such as Lahmacun, Manti and Adana Kabab, this traditional long-form style of cooking will elevate dishes such as:

Kuzu Kol, lamb shoulder


Köz Patlıcan, smoked aubergine, fried chilli, fresh zahter


and Dana Kaburga, Beef Rib, as they become tender and moreish over coals.

Tables will be ladened with hot and cold mezzes, a fixture of Zahter’s eclectic menu. Think:

Kuru Cacik, labneh, cucumber, mint, garlic


Pancar, golden beetroot, homemade dukkah


Muhammara, smoked pepper, red chilli, garlic, walnuts

All served with hot breads – Pide and Lavash – fresh out of the wood oven.

Other favourites consist of:

Enginar Dolması, whole artichoke, spiced rice, soured cherries and almond


Zeytinyağlı Rezene, oil braised feta cream, charred fennel, dill


Levrek Marin, mustard marinated seabass.

Dessert is not to be forgotten, served with Raki or hot Turkish “cay”:

Kabak Tatlısı, a roasted pumpkin with tahini and walnut


Baklava, kaymac, green pistachios and rose petals, provide the perfectly balanced sweet hit to round off a feast.
