GODDARD & GIBBS TO OPEN 3RD MARCH
10/02/2022
Goddard & Gibbs offers a 150-cover restaurant, 40-cover wine bar and takeaway ‘hatch’ and launches alongside East London’s newest hotel, One Hundred Shoreditch.
Inspired by the fishing villages and the country’s seaside towns, Goddard & Gibbs will specialise in British seafood focused on ethical sourcing and local suppliers from around the UK. Whether dropping in for fish and chips during the day or catching up with friends to enjoy wine and snacks, Goddard & Gibbs will be open for lunch and dinner, and breakfast too.
Guests will enter from Shoreditch High Street directly into the wine bar; its floor-to-ceiling glass windows allowing natural light to flood in, not only into the bar itself, but into the entire restaurant. Continuing the ‘indoors outdoors’ feel is the hatch, which will offer passersby the chance to grab some great British bites on the move.

Creations include a Sage + Butter Gimlet (Portobello Road Butter Gin, lime and sage), Marine Martini (42 Below Vodka, Cocchi Dry, Everleaf Marine made with sixteen sustainably sourced botanicals, and lemon), and Tarragon French ’75 (Beefeater Gin, lemon, tarragon, topped with Crémant).
The space is designed by Jacu Strauss, Lore Group’s Creative Director, with his inspiration naturally being nostalgic summer days spent at the seaside. The sculpture in the middle of the restaurant is reminiscent of stacking pebbles on the beach as a child, designed by Jacu himself. The wood-panelled walls are decorated by 10 textural sand artworks, also by Jacu and his in-house designer Maya Laud, are created by applying multiple layers of sand which display an abstract interpretation of a beach, with colour and texture playing key roles in creating the wistful feel of playing by the sea. Strauss retained some aspects of the original space while enhancing the overall interior design with the addition of a new glass partition wall, allowing light to flood the space from the newly created wine bar.
The wine bar, on Shoreditch High Street, will offer an easy, friendly place to wind down and enjoy a glass of wine. The list will feature a selection of wines from modern, forward-thinking producers, alongside more celebrated regions, complemented by sharing plates including Marinated Cornish Sardines, Day Boat Crisp Calamari, and Clam Pizza Pie.
Goddard & Gibbs will be open every day for lunch and dinner. Reservation lines are open now. Breakfast and brunch will launch soon.
