INTRODUCING HAMPTON MANOR

15/09/2021

We are very excited to now be working with Hampton Manor in the West Midlands as they embark on an exciting new chapter in the estate’s history. The Hill family have been running Hampton Manor and it’s 45 acre estate since 2008. Setting themselves apart from the crowd, they specialize in two night experiential stays for the curious food lover. An immersive destination, their staycation experiences form the backbone of the estate, providing guests with an understanding of how everything at Hampton Manor is intrinsically linked and thoughtfully curated.

This month has seen the launch of a new bakery and shop run by Min Go (who joined them from Meyers Bageri in Copenhagen); Min is the daughter of dairy farmers but chose baking as her career; she has a particular passion for ancient and indigenous varieties of grain and will bring this expertise to the estate; all her loaves will be made using UK stone ground grains. The Bakery will meet the estates need for baked goods but also create a point of connection for the local community with a shop open Friday to Sunday mornings.

And we have also seen the opening of Smoke a new restaurant on the edge of their walled gardens headed up by Masterchef Professionals winner, Stuart Deeley. This will be a rustic affair with food cooked over fire amongst the tomato vines to a great soundtrack of tunes. The menu celebrates seasonal produce, sustainable farming and simplicity. The dining tables are housed in beautiful, Victorian greenhouses and Deeley will be cooking over coals in the old furnace house which used to heat them; there will also be firepits dotted around for guests to enjoy s’mores after dinner. Dishes include:

Oak-smoked British Trout, Dill Pickled Kohlrabi & Horseradish

Packington Pork Belly

Whole Cornish Plaice

Dunwood Farm Rib-Eye (for two to share)

Baked St Jude with Toasted Fruit Bread & Garden Chutney

Coming in 2022

Since 2018 the Hill family have been working on a unique project to open an immersive experience inside their walled garden; they hope to share with guests the story of a movement in farming that is focusing on soil health and sustainability. This new project will be called Grace & Savour and will showcase how good farming is the secret to real flavour. The project will have 5 new bedroom suites looking out into the garden. It will also create the estate’s first one-night experience. More details coming soon….
