LAVISH HOLIDAY DINING ELEVATES THE FESTIVE SEASON AT THE PENINSULA LONDON

07/12/2023

The Peninsula London, which since September 2023 has welcomed the world’s most discerning luxury travellers, has introduced a line-up of magnificent dining experiences to share with guests for its first holiday season. Boasting three superb restaurants and a world-class culinary team, the hotel invites both visitors and London locals to celebrate Christmas and New Year’s with a time-honoured tradition – by gathering with loved ones to enjoy sumptuous meals.

Brooklands By Claude Bosi: Christmas Tasting Menus with Exceptional Views

Sky-high city views and sublime, seasonal European dining characterise Brooklands by Claude Bosi, the rooftop restaurant and bar led by culinary-award-winning partners Chef Director Claude Bosi and Chef de Cuisine Francesco Dibenedetto. Menus here, which are crafted using the finest sustainably-sourced British ingredients and traditional French techniques, are served in a dramatically sleek, modern dining room inspired by the design of the Concorde, with floor-to-ceiling windows offer views spanning from St Paul’s through to Buckingham Palace.

The restaurant will host a sumptuous five-course Christmas Eve Dinner (£225 pp) including dishes like scallop with truffle, hazelnut and black radish; and monkfish with artichoke, cockles and bone marrow sauce. A five-course Christmas Day Lunch menu (£275 pp), and a four-course Christmas Dinner menu (£225 pp, will also be served, featuring pheasant with truffle and chestnut velouté; turbot with oscietra caviar sauce; Rossini-style dry-aged beef fillet, and Black Forest gateau.

On New Year’s Eve, Brooklands will offer a similarly decadent five-course tasting menu with seating at 5:50 pm (£295 pp). An extravagant seven-course tasting menu with seating at 9pm (£325 pp) will also be offered, which includes guaranteed seating at the adjoining Brooklands Bar – an elegant cocktail lounge with innovative and classic libations conceived by Director of Mixology Florian Thireau. Both the restaurant and bar provide spectacular vantage points from which to watch the city’s dazzling New Year’s Eve fireworks display.

Canton Blue: Celebratory Cantonese Dining

Set on the ground floor of The Peninsula London, Canton Blue offers authentic and exquisitely prepared Cantonese cuisine – and an opulent escape from the bustling city streets. Amid refined surrounds that invoke historic spice-trade routes between East and West, Executive Chef Dicky To and his team will offer bountiful Cantonese feasts on Christmas Eve (seven courses, £150 pp), Christmas Day (eight courses, £265 pp), New Year’s Eve (eight courses, from £300 pp) and New Year’s Day (six courses, £145 pp). Each menu will include a variety of handmade dim sum and barbecue appetisers, followed by classic preparations like Peking duck, theatrically carved tableside. During all holiday meals, a seven-course vegetarian menu will also be available (£105 pp).

The Lobby: Festive Feasts with International Flair

The literal and figurative heart of The Peninsula London, The Lobby offers sophisticated all-day dining in a space of breath-taking elegance. Hand-painted murals, triple-height ceilings, and live music drifting down from the mezzanine set a grand scene for festive meals, including a three-course Christmas Eve menu (£130 pp) featuring dishes like a classic prawn cocktail with avocado; foie gras terrine; and turbot en croute. A four-course Christmas Day menu will also be served (£195 pp), including a choice of roast turkey with chestnut stuffing or beef striploin served with all the trimmings and lashings of gravy. An additional three-course Children’s Menu (£65 pp) will offer favourites like tortellini with tomato cream sauce, and a delicious gingerbread ice cream sandwich.

Another cherished tradition enhanced for the holidays is the Peninsula Festive Afternoon Tea (£120 pp), served daily at The Lobby through the month of December. The family-friendly menu features sweet and savoury delights that highlight the flavours of the season – such as mini pastries of pumpkin mille-feuille with chestnut; delicate finger sandwiches filled with smoked salmon and duck confit; and patisserie creations like a coconut and sour cherry white forest cake, and a chestnut and clementine Mont Blanc.

For bookings, guests should contact The Lobby directly at +44 20 8138 6888 or plnlobbyrestaurant@peninsula.com.
