NEW LINE-UP ANNOUNCED FOR THE CAFE MURANO BOOK CLUB

26/08/2022

Angela Hartnett will launch the next series of her sell-out Cafe Murano Book Club this September, with an exceptional line up featuring industry icons: Sabrina Ghayour, Richard Bertinet and Delia Smith. Each event will be hosted by award winning food writer Mark Diacono and will take place at Cafe Murano Bermondsey, with tickets priced at £85. This includes a welcome cocktail, nibbles and a bespoke two-course dinner with wine pairings, inspired by the respective author’s book.

Up first on Sunday 18th September is Sabrina Ghayour, Iranian-born chef and cookbook author of Persiana, who will bring her Middle Eastern influence to Cafe Murano Bermondsey. During the evening she will discuss the launch of her inspiring new book Persiana Everyday, no doubt reflecting on recent life changes that have been the biggest driving force behind creating a collection of fuss-free, crowd-pleasing recipes. With a signature style influenced by a love of vibrant and delicious ingredients, and a passion for creating quick, simple and plentiful dishes, Sabrina will share her insights for busy family cooks.

On Sunday 30th October, Richard Bertinet, chef, master baker and renowned author, will deep dive into his 30 years in the industry, discussing his cookbooks and baking experiences to date. Richard was named the BBC Food Champion of the Year 2010 and founded The Bertinet Bakery. His first book Dough won the Julia Child Award for Best First Book and the James Beard Award for Best Book. Guests can expect to pick up valuable home baking and pastry hacks, before Richard hopefully reveals details of Bertinet at Home, an exciting new project he is currently working on.

The final guest of the series, on Sunday 20th November, will be the much-loved cook and TV sensation, Delia Smith. For over 50 years industry legend Delia has given millions the confidence to learn to cook through her books, columns, tv programmes and website. It will be a rare opportunity to find out more about her illustrious life and the accolades she has received. A number of her most loved books will also be available to purchase on the night.

Cafe Murano Book Club will provide guests with an opportunity to partake in an intimate discussion and Q&A with each author, learning about their creative processes, successes, and forthcoming publications. The entire experience – including a welcome cocktail, signature Cafe Murano nibbles and a two-course menu – will be influenced by the speakers’ themes. The evening also provides the opportunity to buy a signed copy of the respective book.

Tickets are £85 each and can be booked here.
