NOPI CELEBRATES INTERNATIONAL WOMEN’S DAY

On Tuesday 8th March, Ottolenghi’s NOPI will celebrate International Women’s Day with a one-off event that brings together some of the group’s leading female chefs and recipe developers. Yotam will be on hand to introduce these incredible women on the night and these never-seen-before dishes will stay on the menu until the end of the month.

The 7-course menu will comprise of a colourful medley of sharing plates by Noor Murad, head of the Ottolenghi Test Kitchen, Elaine Goad, head chef at Ottolenghi Chelsea, and Saori Takomoto of NOPI. The baking wizard that is Verena Lochmuller (Ottolenghi Test Kitchen) will oversee dessert, bringing her inspired techniques to the table. Expect bold, standout flavours across a multitude of cuisines, drawn from each individual’s time spent in the Ottolenghi family.


Celebrating diversity, the event aims honour the achievements of women across the Ottolenghi group. To accompany the dishes, NOPI’s Anastasia Xar will curate a wine selection showcasing only the very best female wine producers; whilst Valentina Bordin will kick off the evening with a signature cocktail.


A foreword from Yotam on the evening will commence the event, set to the familial backdrop of his first ‘grown-up’ restaurant, right in the heart of the West End. For those who can’t make the night, three specials by these brilliant female chefs will run on the NOPI menu throughout March. Find the full menu and dishes below:


Roasted Beetroot with Ajoblanco and Marinated Strawberries

Slow Roasted Celeriac with Kare-Kare Sauce, Grilled Pak Choi and Mushroom

Black Lime Tofu with Spinach and Pickled Onions

Blackened Chicken Thighs with Caramel Tangerine Dressing

Grilled Cod with Spiced Tomato and Braised Coconut Spring Greens

Labneh Lemon Posset with Meringue and Burnt Lemon

Warm Mochi Financier with Miso Brulée Cream and Toasted Brown Rice Crispies


The dinner is the perfect way to highlight the work of the women who make up 55% percent of the Ottolenghi group - from the longest-serving female member of staff, Luana Knudsen (who has been there for almost 14 years), to the newest members at Ottolenghi’s latest deli in Chelsea.
