PRAWN ON THE LAWN TO REOPEN PRAWN ON THE FARM
21/02/2022
From Katie and Rick Toogood of fishmonger-come-restaurant Prawn on the Lawn, POTF will pitch tent again at Trerethern Farm for yet another season of al-fresco dining and the freshest seafood straight from the Cornish coast.
Daily changing menus will continue to celebrate the best of what Cornwall has to offer, with produce grown on site at Padstow Kitchen Garden, charcuterie and pork from the farm’s pigs, while fish from a small network of Cornish day boats will be star of the show. Set to a similar backdrop, the 52-cover restaurant will be housed within a marquee with additional outdoor seating looking out on to the picturesque Camel Estuary.
Stunning whole fish like John Dory, Cornish Sole and Wild Bass will be served whole or by the kilogram, and cooked either Chinese, Thai or classic style. On the menu alongside them? Mussels and Oysters grown in the nearby estuary - within sight of the POTF marquee. It doesn’t come much fresher than that.
Sample dishes will include:
Porthilly Oysters,
served raw or deep fried with garlic créme fraîche
Ham, egg and shrimps
Brill, whipped lardo, roast onion
BBQ mackerel, 'nduja butter, tarragon
POTL Fruits de Mer
served hot or cold
Prawn on the Farm will reopen on the 1st April, open Tuesday to Saturday until 2nd October.
