SEED LIBRARY ANNOUNCES PARTNERSHIP WITH NORMAN’S CAFE

20/09/2022

On Wednesday 21st September, favourite East London watering hole Seed Library will launch an exclusive partnership with North London institution Norman’s Cafe offering a menu full of traditional British delights that have made them so well-known.

Seed Library comes from critically acclaimed and multi-award-winning, Mr Lyan, aka Ryan Chetiyawardana, and is the go-to local watering hole for residents and industry folk alike offering lo-fi, analogue cocktails, alongside a range of craft beer, low-intervention wine and artisanal sake. The current menu includes a Crabapple gold rush, Chive daiquiri and old favourite Coriander seed gimlet, amongst others.

The collaboration sees Norman’s Cafe food available after the sun goes down for the very first time. Name a better way to enjoy your Friday night cocktail than with a plate of Smiley faces, a Chip butty or Whipped cod’s roe with Frazzles.

Norman’s Cafe founders, Richie Hayes and Elliott Kaye say, “We are very excited that we are able to team up with the brilliant team at Seed Library. To offer a Norman’s evening snack menu alongside Seed Library’s excellent drink list is an incredible opportunity and one we hope everyone will enjoy!”.

The opening menu includes:

Bread & butter

Spence Bakery potato sourdough straight from the oven with unsalted butter

Sliced ham, pickles & mustard

Smoked English ham served with pickles, English mustard and extra virgin olive oil

Cheese & onion toastie

Farmhouse cheddar and smoke English ham on thick white bread with caramelised onions

Chip butty

Thick cut British chips in a potato bun

English tomatoes

Bull’s Heart tomatoes served with extra virgin olive oil and sauvignon vinegar

Whipped cod’s roe with Frazzles

Freshly whipped cod’s roe served with childhood favourite, Frazzles

Chicken nuggets with Norman’s sauce

Tempura fried chicken nuggets served with chilli sauce

Smiley faces

A Seed Library favourite - potato smilies served with red sauce

Syrup sponge & custard

Ryan Chetiywardana, aka Mr Lyan, notes “Alex and I have been following the Norman's Cafe team with real excitement since their launch in 2020. We share their love of comforting classics and iconic British dishes, and with their approach of stripping things back and letting the ingredients shine, they were an obvious first pick for our kitchen collab series”.

The Norman’s Cafe residency at Seed Library will run from 21st September for eight weeks.
