ST. JOHN TO OPEN IN MARYLEBONE

01/07/2022

Fergus Henderson and Trevor Gulliver will open St. JOHN Marylebone this September.

St. JOHN Marylebone will be an all-day, wine-led space to enjoy the excellent food and wine synonymous with St. JOHN, evolving through the day to serve the needs and desires of locals and those who travel enthusiastically for a pilgrimage to St. JOHN.

In the morning diners will find delights from St. JOHN’s own bakery in Bermondsey: famous doughnuts and breads, St. JOHN's own gently-spiced granola with clouds of Neal’s Yard Dairy Yoghurt and seasonal poached fruit.

Doughnuts are paired with Champagne mid-morning and then, as luncheon rears its lovely head, a selection of small plates appears on the daily-changing blackboard, a glorious nod to both the bar menu at St. JOHN Smithfield and the sharing style of Bread and Wine. The menu is overseen by Fergus Henderson and Chef-Director Jonathan Woolway, driven and informed by the excellent wine list with a firm emphasis on the seasonal and local, pulling from the classic St. JOHN repertoire but with touches all its own and nods to culinary luxuries that Fergus so enjoys - a touch of caviar, perhaps. “Cheeky”, says Fergus. The menu rolls in to dinner, with additional specials to reflect the bounty from suppliers and the rhythms of the service.

Throughout the day St. JOHN’s beloved wines will be celebrated and emphasised, with the carefully-curated list including St. JOHN's own unparalleled house wines, and bottles reflecting longstanding relationships with generations of vignerons, and new friendships with exciting new winemakers..

Trevor says: "Inspired by the bars of Paris and Florence, which are all things to all people at all moments through every day - coffee and wine, tartines and three-course meals, babies and bankers. Each St. JOHN sings with its own voice, dictated by the environment and community in which it finds itself. This new addition to the family will provide a rolling feast of many parts, with ample good wine as you would expect”.
