BÉBÉ BOB TO OFFICIALLY OPEN ON 18th OCTOBER

02/10/2023

Introducing Bébé Bob: born out of a love for rotisserie chicken, fine wine and champagne, and located on Golden Square, where Mayfair meets Soho and comfort meets old world glamour.

Officially opening on Wednesday 18th October, preceded by a soft launch period with 30% off food from 4th to 15th October, Bébé Bob comes from the team behind Bob Bob Ricard Soho, currently in its 15th year of trading, and City, opened in 2021.

Their new baby will retain signature Bob Bob hallmarks; an idiosyncratic sense of style, flamboyant décor, seamless service, a meticulous approach to French cooking and some of the best value champagne and fine wines in London, however the concept is entirely novel. Simply put, in the words of founder Leonid Shutov, the menu offers “any main course the customer wants as long as it is chicken or chicken.”

The concise menu from Head Chef Sherwin Mauro (who has worked at Bob Bob Ricard City since November 2021) and Executive Chef Ben Hobson, is based entirely around Vendée chicken from Pays de la Loire and Landais chicken from Gascony, cooked to order and serving two. Sides are plentiful, with highlights of Roast potatoes cooked in chicken fat with thyme, rosemary and garlic; Truffled cauliflower cheese in Mornay sauce with truffle, parmesan and cheddar; and Sauteed kale in confit garlic.

Caviar - a Bob Bob staple - will come in three varieties, whilst starters follow suit in decadence. Think Anchovy egg mayonnaise and Prawn cocktail, complete with Cognac Marie Rose sauce. The finest French patisserie will also feature, Tarte fine and Calvados ice cream, Paris-Brest and Le Colonel, Menton lemon sorbet served with a shot of finest Ukrainian Vodka.

Drinks are designed to complement the chicken, with Head of Wines Giacomo Recchia giving half the list over to Champagne and Burgundy, and half to the classic favourites from around the world. In a time-honoured Bob Bob tradition, the wines and Champagnes are offered at some of the best value in London, often below retail.

Décor is reminiscent of the Roaring 1920s, conjuring Gatsby-esque feeling with banquettes throughout except for at the yellow granite bar counter. No detail has been spared, from the monogrammed plates to the bespoke glassware designed by Leonid himself, ensuring Bébé Bob is undoubtedly the finest rotisserie in town.
