THE LOBBY AT THE PENINSULA LONDON LAUNCHES NEW SUNDAY ROAST MENU

13/03/2024

The Lobby, the refined, all-day restaurant at The Peninsula London, is delighted to announce the launch of its latest culinary offering: the Sunday Roast. Served in the grand dining room at the heart of the hotel, this traditional British meal is enhanced by the exceptional hospitality for which The Peninsula is legendary.

Sunday Roast in The Lobby is a lavish, three-course affair, celebrating the best British ingredients. Starters focus on lighter dishes, such as Crab Benedict, smoked salmon and crab tian, steak tartare, and beetroot salad. Main courses include a choice of roasted Lake District beef striploin or duck breast – whilst alternative options of chive-crusted halibut fillet and miso-glazed aubergine are also available. All dishes are accompanied by a generous selection of trimmings for the table, such as beef dripping roast potatoes; heirloom carrots; cauliflower, cabbage, and spinach gratin; Yorkshire pudding, and lashings of gravy.

Desserts in The Lobby, created by the hotel’s highly skilled pastry team, are known for classic flavours with a modern twist. Sunday Roast guests can choose from two such decadent creations: chocolate and caramel hazelnut tart; or vanilla crème brûlée with rhubarb.

Diners who enjoy a glass of wine along with their Sunday Roast can select from an extensive list curated by The Peninsula London’s Director of Wine, Melody Wong. Wines range from new-world finds to rare vintages, and include special offerings like Deutz Champagne, English Sparkling Wine from partners Coates and Seely, and non-alcoholic Saicho Darjeeling Sparkling Tea.

The Lobby sets the stage for a special dining experience, from the moment arriving guests are greeted by Peninsula Pages. The refined and airy space is adorned with triple-height ceilings, hand-blown crystal chandeliers, and captivating hand-painted de Gournay landscape murals, each depicting the verdant greenery of the hotel's courtyard and the surrounding Royal Parks. Each day at 3 pm, diners are treated to a live music performance.

The Sunday Roast menu is available every Sunday for lunch from noon to 2:30 pm and is priced at £75 per person. For those looking to elevate their dining experience, an option including a glass of white or red wine is available for £85 per person.
