SEED LIBRARY ANNOUNCES EXCLUSIVE PARTNERSHIP WITH MY NEIGHBOURS THE DUMPLINGS

On Monday 17 July, East London’s go-to cocktail bar Seed Library will launch an exclusive partnership with popular dumpling house, My Neighbours The Dumplings.

Available for three months only, the menu will showcase the team's signature dim sum making techniques, incorporating fresh produce from the UK to create impressive dishes packed with flavour. Favourites include Crispy prawn wonton with sweet chilli sauce and Pork and prawn siu mai, a classic dumpling topped with the savoury pop of salmon roe for that little bit of luxury. To pair with the limited-edition dishes the Seed Library team has created a Black vinegar gimlet, featuring Potato vodka, peach oolong and black vinegar.

Seed Library by critically acclaimed and award-winning, Mr Lyan, aka Ryan Chetiyawardana, and his team, is a favourite for local residents and industry folk alike, offering lo-fi, analogue cocktails, alongside a range of craft beer, low-intervention wine and artisanal sake. The current menu includes a Salsa Margarita and Greenhouse Treacle , alongside the bar’s trademark Coriander seed gimlet.

My Neighbours The Dumplings founder, Bec Wharton notes, “We love what the team do at Seed Library, with such playful takes on classic cocktails. I feel we share the same approach, taking the best of classic dumplings and dim sum dishes and adding our own personal touch. We’re excited to try out the new Black vinegar gimlet alongside our exclusive menu.”

The opening menu includes:

• Crispy Prawn Wonton with sweet chilli sauce (5 pcs) £11.00
• Har Gau, steamed crystal prawn dumplings (4pcs) £12.00
• Sui Mai, steamed pork & prawn dumplings topped with salmon roe (4pcs) £13.00
• Pork & makrut lime leaf potstickers, pan fried dumplings (6pcs) £12.00
• Courgette & Woodear Mushroom potstickers, pan fried dumplings (6pcs) *ve £12.00
• Crispy Turnip Cake with soy cured egg yolk *v £12.00
• Loaded silken tofu with vegan XO sauce, soy glaze and pickled chilli *ve £11.00
• Smacked cucumber salad *ve £8.00
  

Ryan Chetiyawardana notes, "Dim sum and Chinese sharing plates have long been a love within the Mr Lyan company – if only in our preferences, meetings and staff parties – so it's great to be able to collaborate with some dumpling legends to finally bring this into the bars! There's also so much synergy between us both (and I'm very excited to hopefully join their Mahjong Club soon!), so to bring them into Seed Library, and to have their amazing dishes alongside our cocktails, it's incredibly exciting. The idea of having a Coriander seed gimlet alongside some Sui mai, Potstickers or Turnip cake with the team from Seed Library bringing the fun is pretty much perfect to me – especially as we have air conditioning to escape the heat – so I am counting down the days until we're live!”

The My Neighbours The Dumplings residency at Seed Library will run from 17th July to 17th October. This is the third pop-up from the Seed Library team following successful collaborations with Norma’s Cafe and Ruben’s Reubens.
