ORIGIN COFFEE OPENS IN EDINBURGH

Award-winning, B Corp speciality coffee roaster, Origin Coffee, has officially opened its doors on South College Street on the edge of the city’s old town. Open seven days a week, the coffee shop and workshop space has been lightly renovated as a multi-use hub for students, residents and locals alike, providing a sleek space for visitors.

Open from 8am to 5pm, the new 36-seater space offers a menu featuring a range of single-origin coffees that showcase Origin’s world-class coffee programme celebrating seasonality, quality and provenance. Quality teas, matcha, and sweet and savoury pastries from local bakeries Fieldwork Cafe and Company Bakery will be available daily.

On the opening, General Manager Kris Briedis said, ‘We’re so excited to finally open the doors to our first coffee shop in Scotland. Edinburgh is such a special place with a dedicated speciality coffee community. From the start of our journey, we’ve felt so welcome in the city and we look forward to showing our appreciation over our opening weekend events!’.

To celebrate the launch, the coffee shop is hosting a program of community-focused events in its education space for guests to participate in workshops and training, available for everyone from the professional barista to the at-home coffee enthusiasts looking to hone their craft. Across the 2nd, 3rd and 10th of May Origin Coffee is offering ‘An Introduction to Speciality Coffee’ for £5 per person and discounted Latte Art Taster workshops for £15 throughout the day between 9am - 3pm.

Enthusiast courses are also available to book in advance starting on 11th May through Origin’s website. The courses offer guests a look into the world of speciality coffee and a chance to practice their skills, including Latte Art, Home Barista, and Home Brewing. The education hub will be available for wholesale partners, teams, and fellow professionals to book for further education and training courses.
